Dual Transistor Fuzz
Harmonic Percolator-into-MOSFET-boost fuzz with switchable input range and clipping voices.
The Dual Transistor Fuzz rides between boost, overdrive and fuzz, built as a Harmonic Percolator feeding a MOSFET boost. Two switches set its character: a Range switch selects the input cap, choosing a Dallas Rangemaster-style treble-boost voice for hitting dark amps or a fuller-range preamp, while a Voice switch changes the clipping, from hand-matched NOS germanium diodes for maximum compression and fuzz, to no diodes for more high end and transients, to asymmetrical germanium/silicon clipping in between. It cleans up well and reacts strongly to pedals placed before it, moving from glassy germanium preamp to 90s-style fuzz. Standard 9V center-negative power, hand-built in Wilmington, Delaware.
