Awkward Mustache
Three-op-amp Big Muff-style fuzz with a Fuzz sweep from clean boost to blown-out wall.
The Awkward Mustache is Voltic's take on the op-amp Big Muff, using three op-amps to deliver heavy gain and volume while keeping unusual note separation on chords. A Fuzz knob sweeps from clean boost to face-melting distortion, and two toggles reshape the circuit: Super mode inserts matched hard-clipping germanium diodes before the final gain stage, rolling off bass and treble and adding a complex enveloping clip at high fuzz, while Defeat mode bypasses the tone control to remove the Muff's inherent mid scoop, giving a rawer, louder, more midrange-forward sound. It covers 90s shoegaze and alt-rock through modern post-hardcore. Standard 9V center-negative power, hand-built in Wilmington, Delaware.
