The 800 recreates the first op-amp distortion and overdrive designs of the 1970s, specifically the DOD 250 and MXR Distortion+, in a single pedal. It offers selectable clipping between silicon diodes for a harder-edged distortion and LEDs for a softer, more open drive, and an internal DIP switch engages an output treble filter to tame the brightness those circuits are known for. With plenty of output on tap it also works as a boost to push an amp. Hand-assembled in Canada, it covers the gritty, mid-forward vintage op-amp drive sound.
