Heavy Hatchet Distortion

The Heavy Hatchet is Driftwood's all-analog high-gain distortion, built around the German amp maker's metal voicing and packing a lot into one box: a full three-band EQ with gain, low- and high-gain modes that act as two channels, a built-in noise gate, and a boost with vintage and modern modes. Rumble sets low-end resonance and Sharp dials in presence, and a switch turns the whole thing into a preamp for running into an amp's effects return or a power amp. There's a jack for remote channel switching. It runs on 9V DC center-negative and is hand-built in Germany, aimed squarely at modern metal tones.
