Verzerrer

The Verzerrer recreates the obscure East German Bohm Trickverzerrer, a raw 1960s-70s distortion. Fredric Effects builds it with original old-stock transistors and diodes to keep the abrasive, characterful voice of the original while adding modern practicality. An input gain control sits on the outside, with externalised trim pots and internal DIP switches for further tuning the circuit's bias and response. It leans harsh and lo-fi, a distinctive alternative to conventional distortion. Handmade in the UK by Fredric Effects.
