Dirt Transmitter (Reissue)
Reissue of the silicon Dirt Transmitter fuzz with Bias starve control. Same circuit as the original.
A reissue of the original Dirt Transmitter, EQD's silicon-transistor fuzz driver. Silicon rather than germanium yields a bitier top-end and more gain than germanium fuzzes typically offer. Four controls: Fuzz for saturation from light grit to full destruction, Tone for high-frequency rolloff, Level for output, and a Bias knob that starves the transistors of current to create dying-battery and gated Velcro-like fuzz textures at low settings — with the knob around 2 o'clock it opens up to thick, stable fuzz. The gated behavior is a consequence of bias starvation, not a frequency-selective gate. All-analog, hand-built, true bypass. 9V DC, 3mA.
