Purple Nightmare Tube Preamp

The Purple Nightmare Tube Preamp puts the Burn channel of Driftwood's flagship high-gain amplifier into a pedal, running two real 12AX7 preamp tubes fed by an internal charge pump that steps 12V up to a 250V plate voltage. The control set mirrors an amp: Master, Gain, Bass, Middle and Treble plus Rumble, Sharp, a hi/lo gain switch and a three-way Sizzle switch, along with an onboard Tube Screamer-style drive section, an effects loop and four-cable-method connections. A built-in 2-watt MOSFET power amp lets it drive a cabinet for practice. It runs on a 12V DC 1.5A supply and is hand-built in Germany, delivering the amp's aggressive modern metal gain without the full head.
