Golden Ratio

The Golden Ratio revives the obscure Alan Yee Fuzzy Nuts circuit, built around a single selected transistor and diodes with Collateral's tweaks for smoother behavior. A lone knob sweeps the whole range, from clean-ish boost at the low end up through gritty overdrive to a spitting, aggressive fuzz as you turn it up, which makes it a compact do-everything gain stage rather than a one-trick fuzz. It runs on a standard 9V supply and ships in a small enclosure. Because it reacts strongly to pick attack and guitar volume, it works well as an always-available dirt pedal that follows your hands.
