Fuzz Factory 7
Expanded Fuzz Factory with 9-position sub rotary and two 1956 Amperex Black Glass transistors. Seven controls.
The Fuzz Factory 7 is the expanded version of ZVEX's legendary oscillating germanium fuzz. Where the original Fuzz Factory has five knobs and the Fat Fuzz Factory adds a 3-position sub toggle, the FF7 replaces that toggle with a 9-position rotary sub switch at the 5 o'clock position — fatter and subbier to the left, thinner and reedier to the right. That rotary changes the oscillation range of the pedal when the other knobs are set to a squealing or oscillating tone, and the original Fuzz Factory voice sits around the middle position. The circuit uses two hand-selected 1956 Amperex Black Glass transistors, visible through a Lexan window. Seven total controls: Volume, Gate, Comp, Drive, Stab, Tone, plus the sub rotary and a Tone stomp switch. Current draw varies wildly with settings — as low as 3mA in normal use, as high as 50mA during extreme oscillation.
