ThroBak built their reputation on faithful recreations of vintage PAF pickups, bringing the same obsessive attention to their pedal line. The Overdrive Boost channels the Colorsound Power Boost that powered David Gilmour's soaring leads and Jeff Beck's explosive dynamics through the 1970s.
Three hand-selected TO-18 metal can silicon transistors form the core, with a switchable germanium transistor and diode pair adding a second voice. The pre-gain control is externally switchable with an internal trim pot for fine-tuning, and a bias adjustment lets you dial in the exact sweet spot of each transistor.
Gain, Bass, Treble, and Master Volume give you full control over the drive character. At lower settings it's a thick, harmonically rich boost that pushes amps into natural breakup. Crank the gain and it becomes the searing, singing overdrive that defined classic British rock.
