Hercules

The Hercules is Organic Sounds' distortion developed by referencing vintage ProCo Rats, offered as a low-gain-focused version of that sound. A standard Rat tends to lose its mids and lows as you turn the gain down, and the Hercules is built specifically to fix that, staying full and articulate with good note separation and a pleasant, gritty texture even at crunch settings. It keeps the intertwined fuzz-distortion-overdrive character that makes the Rat distinctive while extending its usable low-gain range. Hand-crafted in Japan, it's meant to be dialed back for a crunchy tone rather than pushed to maximum gain.
