Super AT Mod
Andy Timmons signature amp-in-a-box built on the BD-2 Phat Mod, with JFET California-amp topology and asymmetrical LED clipping.
The pedal that bottled Andy Timmons' lead tone — the next evolution of Keeley's twenty-year-old BD-2 Blues Driver Phat Mod. Where the original was a soldering-iron modification of a Boss pedal, the Super AT Mod is a ground-up design that uses JFETs in place of tubes to mimic the topology, filtering, and tone-stack behavior of a classic California tube amp.
Clipping is asymmetrical — a silicon diode paired with an LED — which was Keeley's original Phat Mod fingerprint and what gives the pedal its tube-like compression without the smear. A three-way Tone switch adds an AT-voiced mode scooped for humbuckers, the original PHAT mode for single coils, and a neutral position in between.
Responds to volume knob and pick attack like an amp, not like a Tube Screamer. Feeds the Muse Driver lineage.
