Riff Master Germanium Boost
Rangemaster-style germanium treble booster with a four-position frequency selector.
The Riff Master is a modified Dallas Arbiter Rangemaster germanium boost built around Tony Iommi's early Black Sabbath setup, where a Rangemaster pushed a cranked amp into thick lead tone. A Boost knob sets the amount of gain and volume, and a four-position Depth switch changes the frequency range, moving from the original treble-focused Rangemaster voice toward fuller, midrange-heavy boost. It's a positive-ground germanium circuit, so it runs on a 9V battery only and can't share a standard daisy-chained supply. Fuzzlord offers it with AC125, OC44 or AC128 transistors, each with a slightly different character. Placed in front of a dirty amp it tightens and thickens the tone and adds sustain.
