Fortune and Glory

The Fortune and Glory is a MOSFET clean boost modeled on the Z.Vex SHO, using NOS Allen-Bradley resistors and a design rooted in the negative-feedback stages of 1960s recording consoles. A single Volume control ranges from a subtle lift up to a huge 60dB of boost, staying transparent while adding clarity and high-end sheen to the signal. Pushed hard into an amp it moves from a touch of crunch to a smooth overdrive as the front end starts to break up. Hand-built in Oradell, New Jersey by James Bowman of Against Me!, it works as an always-on tone-sharpener or a hard boost for leads.
