Pala

Pala is a compressor and preamp designed to capture the physical feel of a loud amp in a reverberant room rather than just squeezing dynamics. Its preamp section is loosely modeled on a Fender Bassman 10 with the ultra-linear transformer, a dry, slightly trashy but distinctive voice, and it can push into saturation and light distortion on top of its compression. It also handles ordinary compression duties well and adds EQ controls to fit different sources and rigs, working on guitar, bass and keys. Hand-built boutique pedal aimed at players who want compression with amp-like character rather than a transparent squeeze.
