Canoga

The Canoga is Strymon's tweaked take on a vintage silicon Fuzz Face-style circuit, one of three original designs by CEO Gregg Stock and part of the all-analog Series A line. Two controls keep it simple: Drive moves from light edge-of-breakup through moderate crunch to massively saturated fuzz, while Level sets output with plenty of gain on tap for boosting leads or pushing an amp. What sets it apart is how it reacts to your guitar. Wide open it is full, saturated fuzz, but rolling back the guitar volume opens up semi-clean blues, rock, Americana and pop tones that keep clear high end and never turn muddy, reaching sounds you would normally use a distortion pedal for. An unbuffered, low-impedance input and high output impedance preserve the interaction that defines vintage fuzz, so it is built to sit first in the chain and pairs best with an amp that already has a little hair on it. True bypass, 9V DC center-negative (higher voltages can damage it).
