The Snouse BlackBox Overdrive Classic is a component-for-component clone of the original Marshall BluesBreaker overdrive produced in the early 1990s, meticulously handcrafted in Denver, Colorado. This pedal replicates the warmer and smoother circuit revision of the original BluesBreaker, avoiding the overly bright and harsh characteristics of other variants. Built with drastically higher-quality parts than the original, the BlackBox Classic features hand-wired construction on a hand-cut board using Alpha potentiometers, Neutrik jacks, Xicon metal-film resistors, Nichicon electrolytics, and Panasonic ECQ poly-film capacitors. The pedal uses military-grade 24 AWG stranded wire and a socketed op-amp for easy customization. Each unit is individually numbered and hand-drilled from start to finish in Denver's RiNo Art District. The simple three-knob interface (Gain, Tone, Volume) provides intuitive control over the pedal's transparent, touch-sensitive overdrive characteristics.
