The SS-2 is Pete Cornish's 'Soft Sustain', a smooth distortion and sustainer hand-built to order in the UK. It produces long, soft-clipped sustain with a refined, controlled character rather than raw aggression.

A Sustain control sets the amount of drive and compression, Volume sets output, and a passive top-cut control rolls off high end to taste. It is the sibling of the SS-3 used in many high-profile touring rigs, built to Cornish's low-noise, buffered standard.
