Fireweed Fuzz
Electra Distortion with an added FET stage for a gritty, fuzz-tinged overdrive.
The Fireweed Fuzz is built on the Electra Distortion, the simple diode-clipping circuit prized for its raw, amp-like grind, with an added FET gain stage that pushes it toward fuzz. That combination gives a gritty fuzzy drive rather than a clean overdrive or a full Muff-style fuzz, sitting in the rough middle ground between the two. It's hand-built by MMK Electrics on Alaska's Kenai Peninsula, in a steel enclosure that's broken, powder-coated and hand-screened in-house, using a mix of surface-mount and through-hole construction. It runs on a standard 9V supply and suits players after a textured, slightly unruly low-to-mid-gain dirt.
