Boost
Two-knob JFET clean boost derived from a 1970s Barcus-Berry acoustic preamp circuit.
The Fumble is a two-knob JFET clean boost from JHS with a curious backstory. Its circuit is a JFET preamp lifted almost part-for-part from a 1970s Barcus-Berry acoustic piezo preamp, the same design Howard Dumble cloned and used inside his amplifiers.
With just two controls it adds an enhanced, slightly sweetened clean boost, useful for pushing an amp's front end, lifting solos or adding sparkle and presence to a dull rig. True bypass, running on 9V DC.
