Melon Cube
Pulse-width-modulation square-wave fuzz that sits between synth and video-game lead tones.
The Melon Cube is a pulse-width-modulation fuzz that converts the guitar into a square wave, landing in the space between synthesizer tones and hard fuzz. Five controls shape it: Shape sets the width of the waveform, Juice changes the stability of the pulse-width circuit (lower settings pull it toward a conventional fuzz), Gate tightens the response, Tone rolls off highs and Level sets output. It ranges from thick walls of square-wave fuzz to thin, video-game-like leads. Because the circuit is hard-gated it responds best to a strong input, so low-output pickups may need a boost in front. Hand-assembled in Long Beach, California.
