Accomplished Badger

The Accomplished Badger is an original two-stage boost from Fredric Effects. An opamp buffer/boost feeds a germanium transistor gain stage, and an internal charge pump lifts the circuit to 18V for extra headroom and volume on tap. Three internal DIP switches reconfigure the circuit, so it can sit anywhere from a clean amp pusher to a gritty, saturated drive. Handmade in north London by Tim Webster, it works as an always-on level lift or a dirtier gain stage in front of an already-driven amp.
