Reissue of EHX's 1969 Muff Fuzz — the original gritty low-gain overdrive predecessor to the Big Muff.
The Muff Overdrive is a reissue of the original 1969 Muff Fuzz, which predated the Big Muff Pi by two years and established EHX's approach to gritty mid-gain overdrive. Character is vintage tube-amp grit with a touch of funky dirt and edge — the kind of tone you get by cranking a small amp and rolling back your guitar volume for cleanup. Circuit is designed to push your amp's natural breakup rather than produce saturation on its own. Less gain and less scooped than a Big Muff, with the crunchy feel of a worn speaker. True bypass, analog circuit, 9V battery (included) or 9.6V adapter. The circuit that started EHX's entire distortion lineage. Discontinued in 2023.
