Sound Shank
Aggressive germanium fuzz based on the vintage Buzzaround. Hand-signed certificate, limited run.
The Sound Shank is an aggressive germanium fuzz based on the vintage Baldwin-Burns Buzzaround — a rare late-1960s fuzz best known for its use by Robert Fripp on the King Crimson record In the Court of the Crimson King. EQD's version runs three controls. Sustain shapes gain textures from subtle grit with loose ends through tight, focused crunch. Timbre sweeps tone from paper-thin AM-radio voicing through big, bottom-heavy grind. Level handles output. All-discrete analog circuitry, true bypass, handmade in Akron, Ohio. Each unit was dated, numbered, and shipped with a hand-signed certificate of authenticity. 9V DC, 10mA — EQD recommends a transformer-isolated supply. No longer in production.
