1980s DOD FX-series compressor and sustainer with level, sustain and attack/release controls.

The FX80-B Compressor Sustainer is DOD's mid-1980s update to the FX80, a classic of the 1980s FX series.

It adds a third knob, labelled Attack (later Release), for controlling how quickly the compression engages, alongside Level and Sustain, and offers a wide compression range with FET switching for clickless engagement. It evens out dynamics, adds sustain to leads and thickens clean tones, in the mould of the era's much-loved compressor pedals. Now long discontinued, it remains a sought-after vintage unit.
