The Colour of the Young Star

The Colour of the Young Star is a pitch-warping reverb from Discomfort Designs, combining ambient reverb with a pitch shifter.

The pitch shifter can be set up or down an octave or up a fifth, and a Modulation control adds far-out, shimmering and dissonant textures on top of the reverb tail. It's built for otherworldly ambient pads, shimmer effects and dark, detuned soundscapes rather than natural room reverb, part of the maker's experimental Workman's Friend edition.
