Coppersound Pedals builds effects that solve real musical problems with elegant design. The Iris represents their approach to compression: an optical circuit that delivers smooth, transparent dynamics control without the obvious squash or pumping of VCA or FET compressors. Optical compressors use a light-dependent resistor tied to an LED to control gain reduction, which naturally softens the attack and produces more organic-feeling compression. The Iris enhances playing touch rather than fighting it — useful as an always-on tone sweetener or for smoothing dynamic peaks in live playing. Hand-built in the USA. 9V DC, 50mA.
