The R-402 Classic is a Rocket-series overdrive from Big Joe voiced for thick, chunky Texas Flood-style grit with rich harmonic saturation. It has a dynamic, amp-like response that rewards changes in picking and guitar volume.

Presence, Gain and Output set the drive, and a two-position cabinet-simulation toggle models speaker loading for a smoother top end, useful when running direct to a desk or interface. Runs on 9V DC center-negative and accepts 12V or 18V for extra headroom. True bypass.
